In David’s experience travelling to a location can be just as rewarding as the actual location itself .... so guests are encouraged to look out for unscheduled picture opportunities en-route
A typical workshop schedule
Guests are picked up from the airport and driven to Magalas. Once unpacked and settled in, guests can discuss with David the schedule for the next few days. If an early arrival has been made there may be time in the afternoon for a short drive to a location and an introduction to the area.
Leave the house at around 9am and travel to the location. These vary in distance from just a few minutes drive to around an hour. We normally move on to a second location in the afternoon, via lunch where convenient.
We return late afternoon to early evening for a look at guests favourite shots from the day.
Dinner at around 8pm. The rest of the evening is spent discussing the days shooting, looking at pictures on a projector, and of course relaxing with a glass or two of local wine!
A contrasting theme to the previous day, but with a similar schedule.
A further day of photography at different locations (depending on the length of stay).
Guests are taken to their departure airport.
Millau Bridge, one of the most awesome structures in the world, Cirque de Navacelles, a ‘mini Grand Canyon’ with at its heart a tiny hamlet nestling at the bottom, and St.Guillem a medieval village with winding streets.
OR
A superb scenic drive up through the mountains to the hillside village of Roquebrun with its streets tumbling down to the River Orb, then on to the lovely medieval village of Olargues with its winding cobbled streets. Further tempting locations for consideration on our return route are Faugeres, with its windmills, Chateau Grezan, and Roquesselles a tiny atmospheric hamlet with its ancient chapel.
Nearby Beziers, with its indoor market, Cathedral, old town streets and just out of town the world-famous Neuf Ecluses or nine locks on the Canal Du Midi, and perhaps also the bustling and photogenic port of Cap d’Agde.
EAST
Montpellier with its grand metropolitan architecture plus the contrast of Aigues Morte with its medieval port and castle. Just off the return route is Le Grau Roi, a cosy harbour town.
WEST
Carcassonne Castle, one of the most photogenic in Europe, and the Canal Du Midi with its canal-side towns rich in gallic details.
